Estas Dos Sillas/These Two Chairs

These Two Chairs

We had already seen these chairs a few times before, first when Eli-Mateo got sick and then when I some how some way got vertigo. We have probably visited the ER here in Granada more than back in Maryland.

We knew why we were here sitting on these chairs; we kind of had a feeling, even though we probably didn’t want to admit it. Then we heard the doctor confirm what we felt, that Leidy had a miscarriage. With sunken hearts and clenched teeth we heard the doctor tell us what were the next steps. While we waited for the results from some blood work, we went to the cafeteria to have some coffee and chocolate cake. I’m sure it would have tasted better, but the tears made everything salty.

Is It Okay to Smile?

Of course! Not because we decided to forget about it, but because we have PEACE. A peace that surpasses all understanding.  (Philippians 4:7)

We have JOY, but not just any joy. We have the joy of the Lord, which is our strength.  (Nehemiah 8:10)

We are STRONG, because His grace is sufficient for us. For when we are weak, then we are strong. (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)

We have HOPE. We may have sorrow at night, but joy comes in the morning. Because He makes all things new; because we will see Him and no one will take our joy. Because when we do see Him, He will wipe away our tears; there will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain. (Psalms 30:5, John 16: 22, Revelations 21:4)

Even in times of hurt we can smile, we have peace, we have joy, we have strength because we have hope and His name is Jesus.
